Michigan Out Of Doors visits Camp Liberty and learns about motorized track chairs donated by ITC Michigan

Michigan Out Of Doors host, Jenny Olson recently visited Camp Liberty and learned first hand how our partnership with ITC Michigan, who supplied motorized track wheel chairs for disabled veterans who wish to get out in the great outdoors and hunt.  Jenny learned how track wheel chairs allow a vet, with mobility issues, to actively move around Camp Liberty and use one of our handicap accessible hunting and viewing blinds.  During this year’s deer hunting season, a disabled vet successfully harvested a deer and even used the track chair to help drag the deer back to his vehicle.  It is such a wonderful tool.

Jenny later joined a disabled vet in one of our special blinds for an afternoon muzzleloader hunt.

Michigan Out Of Doors will featured this visit on their weekly TV show this coming Thursday on many public TV stations.  Please take a few minutes and watch this exciting show that features Camp Liberty and the veterans we are trying to support.  (Some local public TV stations will air the program on Saturday – please check local listings for the schedule in your area).  You can also view the show via their website and choose shows.
